What do you think of when you hear the word “Community”?
It has many definitions and connotations. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as:
a unified body of individuals: such as the people with common interests living in a particular area; broadly: the area itself; the problems of a large community, a group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger society
“People with common interests”, is a prominent definition and for good reason. A sense of community means working, living and enjoying activities together, which is invaluable. We work together, play together, eat together and worship together. “Community” is not just a buzzword. In the Gaithersburg, Maryland area, “community” is how we live making it one of the best places to live in the country. Not to mention, it was recognized for being the “most diverse city in America”.

On May 19, 2018, hundreds of award-winning and best-selling authors will get together in our community to read their books, talk about their books and promote their books. It’s one of the nation’s top literary events in the country. Poets and songwriters are also spotlighted during this popular event. Rockin’ Jump is excited to be a sponsor this year for the festival.
